Description

This dataset was created to publish the background data for the distribution of Prenanthes abietina (Boiss. & Balansa) Kirp. (Asteraceae).

Sampling Description

Study Extent

The dataset includes all available distributional data on Prenanthes abietina (Asteraceae).

Sampling

The dataset consists of herbarium records and human observations, except for those published separately via iNaturalist.

Quality Control

Identifications were verified de visu. Georeferences were mostly provided on ad hoc basis.

Method steps

  1. The dataset has been compiled from herbarium data and observations published on Plantarium. All available collections were used but most of the data comes from LE and MW. The label data were truncated and translated from Russian to English. The georeferences were provided by A. Sennikov.

Taxonomic Coverages

The dataset contains information about one species only.
  1. Prenanthes abietina
    rank: species

Geographic Coverages

The Caucasus and adjacent areas (Greater Caucasus, Lesser Caucasus, Pontic Mountains).
