Occurrence records of Maruca amboinalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) from Iriomote Island, Japan, including specimens reared from larvae collected on the mangrove-associated vine Derris trifoliata. The dataset provides the first confirmed evidence of the species’ occurrence in mangrove habitats. Records include preserved specimens and associated field observations (including citizen-science data), with information on life stage, host plant, habitat, and collection method.
