As one of the four sections in the Department of Forest Conservation and Protection of the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, Ibadan, the Ecology Section has a mandate to protect and conserve natural resources in-situ. In this regard, the present data reports the diversity of trees in an important permanent sample plot (PSP 83)within the Okomu Forest Reserve of Edo State in Southern Nigeria. This checklist holds a record of 58 tree species within this plot, which was obtained in 1955.Sampling Description
