The aim of the National Monitoring Program Quality of Flora, Environment and Nature (LMF) is to answer policy-specific questions. The national government prioritises the measurement objectives ‘environment’ and ‘general quality of nature’ (ANK). The data is also used to calculate the quality of nature. The environmental section focuses on the following subjects: acidification, eutrophication and groundwater depletion. The monitoring program focuses on the effects of these phenomena on flora. The ‘general quality of nature’ section focuses on the quality of nature in rural areas, which will be represented in an indicator of biodiversity. The monitoring program takes inventory of vegetation in fixed research plots. The vegetation of research plots is analysed with the Braun-Blanquet method. The basis for research is homogenous research plots; research plots that exhibit a single vegetation type. All higher plant species present in the quadrat are reported, as well as their abundance (expressed in the number of specimens and/or coverage). It is optional to also report on moss species. These research plots are examined regularly. Dataset available via https://www.ndff.nl/english / serviceteamndff@natuurloket.nl Apart from these selection plots, other square kilometre plots are also examined, preferably in areas for which there is no inventory data. Positive observations without zeros. 767,928 records (March 2018) https://www.ndff.nl/overdendff/validatie/protocollen/12-202-landelijk-meetnet-flora-milieu-en-natuurkwaliteit/Taxonomic Coverages
