Study Extent
These records are taken from museum specimens collected from 1965 onward on various expeditions to the protected areas in Zimbabwe. This includes most National Parks, Safari Areas, Wilderness Areas and Forestry Areas. However, the coverage is not even and there are several protected areas in Zimbabwe where little or no collecting has taken place. Records from private conservancies have not been included in this dataset.Sampling
Specimens were collected by using pitfall traps, beating trays and sweep nets as well as active searching under rocks and vegetation.Method steps
- Identifications have been done using latest taxonomic revision and field guides. Many species however cannot be identified as they are either new species or the family/genus is still in need of revision. The specimens however will remain in the collection for verification on identity.
