The Pteridophytes from Togo (West Africa)

Study Extent

The study take place in the whole of the Togo

Sampling

Collection of specimens were performed semi-randomly in all habitat types and all ecological zones of the country. For each of the observations, the following information were provided: scientific name, land cover type, longitude, latitude, lifestyle and relative abundance of each Pteridophytes species in a 500 m² plot (50m x 10m).

Quality Control

A double identification was done, firstly on field, secondly thanks to African floras, reference specimens and type specimens hosted at P herbarium.

Method steps

1. The data were recorded in a sheet after the correct identification of each sample. The scienific names synonymy at species level rely on "The Plant List" (http://www.theplantlist.org), Roux (2009) and other relevant floras. The scientific names orthograph have been corrected thanks to the IPNI database. Higher classifications (family and above) are based on the one proposed by PPGI (2016).
