Redlisted beetles found in oak grove near Lake Østensjø

Citation

Description

Data obtained from an insect survey of the oak grove in the ‘environmental park’ around Lake Østensjø (established 2002). “Østensjøvannets Venner” initiated the survey in 2014 to document the species diversity particularly in relation to a few large and potentially hollow oak trees. The aim of the survey was to identify which beetle species associated with dead wood exists in this area. Four insect traps (window traps) were put out at three different oak-tree locations, in the beginning of May to the end of August 2014. The traps were emptied every second week during this period. Sindre Ligaard identified the beetles. Totally 45 beetle species were found.
