Description

Bees were collected using the pan trap method for a 2019 pilot study recording baseline data at pollinator-friendly solar installations throughout Vermont's Champlain Valley. Pan traps were deployed in transects just outside of proposed pollinator habitats along access roads or hedgerows, with 15 bowls in each transect. The traps were deployed for ~24 hours at each location.

Sampling Description

Study Extent

Near solar panel installations in the Champlain Valley, VT that are targets to receive pollinator plantings

Sampling

Each site was trapped 2 or 3 times during summer

Quality Control

Final determinations by Spencer Hardy and Sam Droege (not yet entered).

Method steps

  1. 15 bee bowls were deployed at each site for ~24 hours.
