Soil macrofauna of the middle taiga forests after clear-cutting in the European part of Russia (Komi Republic)

Study Extent

The dataset provides information on the number of individuals of large soil invertebrates in soil cores collected in forests after clear-cutting.

Sampling

Sampling was carried out at 15 plots. We took 4-6 samples at each plot.

Quality Control

The data were collected and identified by specialist from the Institute of Biology of Komi Scientific Centre of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Method steps

1. At each plot samples were taken with a size of 25x25 cm to a depth of 10-30 cm. Individuals were stored in 95% ethanol for subsequent identification with binocular microscope.

To study the fauna of soil invertebrates after after clear-cutting, three plots located in the middle taiga of the Komi Republic (Ust-Kulomsky district) were investigated.
