Description

This dataset of freshwater fish of the Netherlands contains the aggregated data of freshwater fish from different sources. The data are gathered from multiple data sources such as water boards, provinces, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, consultancys, NGO's , volunteers and anglers. Part of the data is extracted from the Dutch National Database Flora and Fauna (NDFF), another part of the data comes from datasets delivered directely to Ravon for the assemblation of a dataset for the atlas of freshwater fish of the Netherlands. The data are aggregated on a rectangular grid of 1 by 1 km2 and divided in three periods (1800-1979, 1980-2006, 2007-2019). The data are validated by fish experts of the Ravon foundation.
