Description

The Seed Genetic Bank of the Scientific Centre of Vegetable and Industrial Crops of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia stores about 3600 seed accessions of traditional and modern varieties, perspective lines and hybrids of vegetable and industrial crops, which are a strategic repository and at the same time serves as an initial breeding material. The emphasis in ensuring reliable conservation of genetic material is given to germplazm of Armenian origin. The Seed Genetic Bank preserves all old traditional and locally bred varieties and hybrids of vegetable and industrial crops, as well as accessions of green vegetables, medicinal and aromatic species.
