This monitoring program counts night-flying bats. A route with at least 20 points and transacts, the distance between 2 points, is set out through a more or less homogeneous landscape. The points need to be at least 400 metres apart, so the route has a minimum length of 8 kilometres, performed on bike. The observable bats are counted with a bat detector every month from April to September along the route, both on the points and on the transacts. This mainly concerns species that can be easily identified using a bat detector, no recording device. A small number of participants have a recording device, in which case they can also report species that are hard to identify.
