Dataset homepage

Description

The total number of records of that type found at that location. In the case of field signs this will be recorded as a count of 1.

Purpose

To improve reptile records for the Norwich and local area.

Sampling Description

Quality Control

Data is believed to be of high quality; all grid references have been verified for accuracy and data recorders have good experience in recording and collecting data. Records have also been verified by an experienced reptile surveyor.

Method steps

  1. The methods used include using artificial refugia in the form of felt, which were laid out in areas thought to be good for basking reptiles.
Repeat survey visits were also carried out at the refugia throughout the survey season. Incidental sightings of the species are also included in the dataset.

Taxonomic Coverages

Geographic Coverages

The dataset mainly covers the Norwich and local area. There are also a small number of records for the Thetford Forest area.
