Description7 days of field survey from 12th to 20th of March, 2021 to assess the availability of palatable browse for the black rhinoceros (woody, forb & liana species below two meters) in Murchinson Falls National Park & Bugungu Wildlife Reserve
Study ExtentMurchinson Falls National Park & Bugungu Wildlife Reserve. Sample sites were grouped by region : North Park West, North Park East, South Park West, South Park Central and Bugungu Wildlife Reserve.
SamplingA physical survey of 43 circular plots of 700 m2 placed near but out of the sphere of influence of the available access roads in the Park: 24 north of the Victoria Nile and 19 south of the Victoria Nile including 6 in the Bugungu Wildlife Reserve Field. Data were captured manually.
- Establishement of circular plots
- Within the plot: identification & recording of all identifiable woody, forb and liana species below 2 meters
