Description

Australian national commercial fisheries presence data summarized by half-degree square, year (2000-2002) and species name. Cells with less than 5 boats represented are excluded, as are commercial "taxa" which represent multiple or otherwise unidentified species. The dataset contains 60,445 records representing 390 separate species. The data were assembled by the former Bureau of Rural Sciences (BRS) which is now a part of the Australian Department of Agriculture.
