Occurende data of polar cod Boreogadus saida (Lepechin, 1744; Gadidae; also referred to as ‘Arctic cod’)used for micro satellite analysis in High gene flow in polar cod (Boreogadus saida) from West-Svalbard and the Eurasian Basin by Maes et al 2021. A total of 171 juvenile polar cod were collected from various fjords off West-Svalbard (Billefjorden, Hornsund and Kongsfjorden), the northern Sophia Basin and the Eurasian Basin of the Arctic Ocean, was analysed using nine DNA microsatellite loci.Sampling Description
Study Extent
Offshore regions and fjords of Svalbard were sampled. This includes Billefjorden and Hornsund and Kongsfjorden fjords. In the Eurasian Basin, samples were collected in the Amundsen and Nansen Basin .Sampling
Sampling was conducted using a SUIT or bottom trawl (BT) with the RVs Helmer Hansen (HH), Heincke (HE) and Polarstern (PS) during four expeditions between 2012 and 2015 (Boetius 2013; Mark 2013; Peeken 2016;Method steps
