The province of Flevoland lies in the middle of the Netherlands. It is the youngest of the 12 provincies, and has been reclaimed from parts of the former Zuiderzee. It includes the former islands Urk and Schokland. The province has over 403,000 inhabitants and covers 2,412 square kilometres.
