Basic data from specimen labels on all the sheets currently held in PSUB collection shown together with digital images from high resolution scans of each sheet.
Characeae is a family of freshwater green algae in the order Charales, commonly known as stoneworts. They are also known as brittleworts from the fragility of their lime-encrusted stems. The most commonly recorded species belong to the genera Chara and Nitella
Purpose
First data set to be made available online from PSUB herbarium. Additional families will be uploaded until the entire PSUB herbarium collection is accessible online.
