Description

Darder Museum of Banyoles was inaugurated on 22 October 1916. Originally, the specimens of the Museum came from the donation of the natural history collections of Francesc Darder Llimona to the town of Banyoles. The collection includes original pieces of dissected animals from around the world, pieces of anthropology, skulls, fetus, human skins, and educational materials related to the natural sciences. The museum's collection also grew up with donations of other people who offered some of their natural sciences collections or objects to the Museum. Nowadays, the Museum collection reaches approximately to 20,000 objects or specimens. Also, it includes different general type collections: botanical, fossils, minerals, insects, molluscs, skeletons and dissected animals.
