Herpetofauna and other animals registered within Rzhyshchiv city amalgamated territorieal community (CATC) (Kyiv region) in 2021

Study Extent

The data was collected during field expeditions conducted within the territory of Rzhyshchiv city amalgamated territorieal community (CATC) (Kyiv region). The authors are grateful to Popov B. for collection of registrations of rare reptiles species on the territory of "Hlyboki Balyky" eco-station.

Sampling

The registrations of reptiles and amphibians were made during fiend research in spring - autumn 2021. The animals were registered visually, following audial signals or found dead on the road. Also some local residents were interviewed in order to collect data on such mistakelessly interpreted species as European pond turtle - Emys orbicularis. Most of the sites investigated in 2020 were studied again in order to provid data for monitoring research. Some registrations of ampibians and reptiles were collected from open source for citizen science - iNaturalist web site.

Quality Control

The dataset has finds of mainly representatives of Reptilia and Amphibia classes. Meanwhile some species of mammals, birds and insects are also shown.
