Project goals in application: Inventory of the Norwegian marine amphipod fauna using barcoding on freshly collected material available at the University Museum of Bergen (Mareano, Centre forGeoBiology, UNIS, Museum cruises). Contrasting earlier mappings and screenings, the combination of a wide range of sampling instruments (sledges, trawls, grabs, corers, ROVs and scubadivers) and washing of samples over a fine meshed sieve has provided the museum with a very large collection of morphologically separate taxa. Use of barcoding (CO1) as an independent character in addition to the traditional morphological characters.Sampling Description
