NHMD Mycology Collection

Description

The fungal collections (The Fungarium) contain approximately 250.000 specimens of fungi with special emphasis on Nordic specimens, including Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Recently, the collections from the former Copenhagen Plant Pathological Collections (CP) have also been included. The collections go back to the early 1800s. Examples of important parts of the collections are materials from Emil Rostrup, Emil Chr. Hansen, Knud Hauerslev, Jan Vesterholt and the recent national fungi atlas project, ‘Svampeatlas-projektet’. The collections also contain extensive material from important international exsiccata (dried herbarium specimens).
