The Waterbug Census trained citizen scientists to identify macroinvertebrates and monitor their local waterway. Macroinvertebrate monitoring occurred in autumn and spring at designated sites across Melbourne. This data was collected using the Agreed Level Taxonomy (ALT) method to ensure data quality and to maintain consistency across sites. Information was included in Melbourne Water data sets for ongoing waterway management. Data is available in ALA.
