Description

La colección entomológica CEUA pertenece a la Universidad de Alicante y está gestionada por el Instituto de Investigación CIBIO. Suma más de 2.200 especies y 500.000 especímenes de Lepidoptera, Diptera, Coleoptera, e Hymenoptera, lo que la sitúa entre las mejores colecciones de insectos de España. Entre sus ejemplares cuenta con numerosos tipos nomenclaturales, y es considerada colección de referencia Zoológica para algunos grupos de Diptera y Coleoptera. Incluida entre sus fondos, se custodia la colección histórica de Hymenoptera del Dr. J. J. Del Junco y Reyes, cedida por J. Del Junco del Río, con numerosos especímenes ibéricos de gran valor. Esta colección mantiene intercambios activos, con los principales especialistas, investigadores, museos y centros de investigación de todo el mundo. Actualmente la colección se encuentra en proceso de informatización dentro del marco GBIF. Cada registro representa un espécimen o parte del mismo. Hasta la fecha han sido incluidos más de 12.000 registros que a lo largo del año 2007 alcanzarán al menos 30.000 ejemplares de Diptera, Coleoptera e Hymenoptera. CEUA entomological collection belons to the University of Alicante, and is conducted by the CIBIO Research Institute This collection has a total of more than 2,200 species, with 500,000 specimens of Lepidoptera, Diptera, Coleoptera and Hymenoptera, which makes it one of the best insect collections in Spain. Many nomenclature types can be found in this collection and it is considered to be a zoological reference collection for some Diptera and Coleoptera groups. Dr. J. J. Del Junco’s important historical collection of Hymenoptera, which was donated by J. Del Junco del Río, forms part of the collection It includes many Iberian specimens of great value. The collection exchanges specimens with leading specialists, researchers, museums and research centres around the world. Nowadays the collection is being computerized under GIBIF framework. Each register corresponds to a single specimen or part of it. Until now more than 12000 registers have been included and at least 30000 specimens from Diptera, Coleoptera and Hymenoptera will be included during 2007. Note: this dataset was previously orphaned. It has been rescued by ① extracting it from the GBIF.org index (see GBIF Download in External Data) and ② republishing it on this IPT data hosting centre as version 1.0.
