Description

This dataset includes occurrence records of Bats from the Western part of Switzerland (Cantons BE, FR, GE, JU, NE, VD, VS) including border areas. Data sources are museum collections, the literature, field observations provided by a network of volunteer collaborators and regional representatives of the Coordination Centre (Centre de coordination ouest pour l'étude et la protection des chauves-souris, Suisse), environmental impact studies, national and regional inventories, monitorings, field work for Red Lists (https://www.bafu.admin.ch/uv-1412-d) and academic work. The period covered by the data extends from 1837 to the present day. All data provided have been subject to a validation procedure.
