Description

The dataset includes the list of plant species registered in 8 releves of association Anemonoido caeruleae-Pinetum sylvestris made along the Abaza-Ak-Dovurak route.

These forests are widespread in the low part of forest belt on the northern macroslope of West Sayan. Pinus sylvestris, Betula pubescens, Abies sibirica and Pinus sibirica are co-dominants of tree layer. Sparse shrub layer is formed by Spiraea chamaedrifolia, Sorbus sibirica, Padus avium. The herb layer is made up of betular species (Brachypodium pinnatum, Calamagrostis arundinacea, Carex macroura, Rubus saxatilis) and tall grass (Aconitum septentrionale, Polemonium coeruleum). Mountain specifics are emphasized by presence of Aegopodium alpestre, Cruciata krylovii. The moss layer is not developped.

Geographic Coverages

The West Sayan mountain ridges form sublatitudinal line. Mostly forest West Sayan is adjacent to steppe landscapes of South Minusinsk Basin from the north and of Khemchik Basin - from the south. The heights of these basins are 400-500 on the north side and 1200-1300 on the south one. The West Sayan is asymmetrical one; the width of the northern macroslope is twice as long as the southern one. Two macroslopes of the Western Sayan belong to different bioclimatic sectors: the northern macroscope - to the humid sector, the southern macroscope – to the semihumid one. The western part of the West Sayan southern macroslope is located in the “rain shadow”, so its vegetation is similar to the semiarid bioclimatic sector one. Forests predominate on the main part of the studied territory. The northern and southern macroslopes of the West Sayan western part have differ in belt spectra and altitudinal marks of the belt boundaries. On the northern macroslope, the forest belt covers the main area and extends from foothills (500 m) to near top (2000 m). The forest-steppe landscapes (1300-1700 m) form the southern macroslope low part, the forest belt cover its upper part (1700 - 2100 m). Their forests belong to 8 associations of floristic classification.
