Records of parasites of domestic animals in Ukraine (according to the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection)

Study Extent

The dataset was created thanks to the information of The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection regarding outbreaks of diseases of domestic animals caused by parasitic diseases. Unfortunately, state statistics and cadastre of such cases are not conducted according to a single model. At the same time, this data set is currently the most complete summary of information on the spread of parasites of domestic animals in Ukraine.

Sampling

The dataset was created using the Microsoft Excel computer program. The information was received with different completeness of data, for different periods, and in some cases, individual regions refused to provide such information altogether. The species and other taxonomic groups' determination was made by the experts of the mentioned organisation. Georeferencing was made according to the description provided within the reports of the organisation.

Quality Control

The authors are fully responsible for the quality of data presented within the dataset.

Method steps

1. Extraction of the primary information of parasites registration from reports of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
2. Goreferencing according to the description provided in the reports.
3. Organizing of the dataset according to the Darwin Core standards.

The dataset covers a wide range of parasitic organisms registered in Ukraine.
