Description

San Luis Potosí es uno de los estados con mayor diversidad de ambientes. Su herpetofauna ha sido estudiada de manera intermitente, por lo que se tiene un conocimiento relativamente adecuado de los anfibios y reptiles. Sin embargo, es necesario integrar este conocimiento y hacerlo disponible a el mayor número de investigadores y personas interesadas en la biodiversidad. Por lo anterior se plantea realizar la actualización del listado y la taxonomía de las especies presentes en San Luis Potosí así como actualizar la distribución conocida de esas especies. Lo anterior se plantea realizar mediante 1) la revisión exhaustiva de la bibliografía, 2) la actualización de las bases de datos de las colecciones Herpetológica de la Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Biológicas, IPN (ENCB) y la Colección Nacional de Anfibios y Reptiles, IBUNAM (CNAR), 3) la actualización taxonómica de las especies, 4) elaboración de mapas de distribución de las familias en el estado, 5) la consulta de las bases de datos de otras colecciones tanto nacionales como extranjeras, 6) también se mencionará el estado de conservación de las especies y 7) se realizarán salidas al campo para obtener recolectas de ejemplares en las regiones donde no se reportan registros, donde tales registros sean escasos, o donde la importancia de registros históricos lo amerite .
