The dataset includes a list of vascular plant species registered in the territory of the «Oleniy» Nature Park and its immediate surroundings (Russian Federation, Lipetsk Region, Krasninsky District). The study of the Park flora was carried out in 2019-2020 at the Park administration initiative and with its financial support. The «Oleniy» Nature Park (https://oleniy.ru) is a private specially protected natural area, created in 2011 to restore and increase the number of rare and valuable species - representatives of the European fauna, to acclimatize commercial and ornamental animal species. The Park implements a policy of comprehensive protection of biological diversity in natural areas, attracts qualified specialists for research work. The Park has an infrastructure for ecological tourism. Floristic survey of the territory was carried out for the first time. 506 vascular plant species were found in the territory during two field seasons. The survey of the territory revealed new habitats of rare species listed in the Lipetsk region Red Data Book. The data supplement information about Lipetsk region flora and the distribution of regionally protected species.Taxonomic Coverages
Geographic Coverages
The «Oleniy» Nature Park is located in the north-west of the Lipetsk region (central part of European Russia). The territory is situated on the eastern edge of the Central Russian Upland and belongs to the forest-steppe zone. The relief is an elevated, undulating plain. The Park territory is located in the Semenyok River valley and is characterized by a large number of gullies and ravines. The total area of the Park is 1217 hectares.
Natural complexes have been significantly transformed by human activities. Arable land occupies over 76% of the area. Natural communities are typical for the northern forest-steppe zone. They are represented by steppe and mesophilic meadows, small island forests of oak, birch, aspen, pine plantations and man-made forest belts. There are shrub communities with Prunus spinosa and Cerasus fruticosa on the slopes of the ravines. Aquatic ecosystems account for only 0.3% of the total area of the Park.
