The National Biodiversity Cryobank of Canada (NBCC) provides curated storage of genomic resources (e.g., tissue, DNA, environmental samples) generated by the Canadian Museum of Nature's research and donated by biodiversity researchers from Canada and abroad across all kingdoms of taxonomic classification. The facility currently has the capacity for 200,000 specimens and is expected to grow to a million specimens with the installation of additional liquid-nitrogen freezers.
The NBCC was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Ross Beaty Family.
