The dataset comprises records of pine marten and other species reported to SNH in relation to casework enquiries and licence applications to exclude the animals. Most records are of animals in buildings.
Purpose
Following initial reports received from owner/occupiers or other members of the public, advice was provided on the most appropriate course of action to take, and where necessary licences were issued to permit exclusion of the animals. The dataset was compiled as part of an exercise to collate records of species listed in the Annexes of the EU Habitats & Species Directive, required for Article 17 Surveillance reporting.
