Description

This dataset presents occurrence records and composition of fish species collected in lakes Edward and George, Uganda.

Sampling Description

Study Extent

Sampling was conducted in nearshore and open areas of lakes Edward and George. Sampling was conducted in two research expeditions conducted in February and May, 2016.

Sampling

Fish capture utilized gillnets set overnight. The nets used were of mesh sizes of 1 to 5.5 inches in increments of 0.5 inches.

Quality Control

All scientific names were validated using FishBase (Froese & Paully, 2021) and the Catalog of Fishes (Fricke et al. 2021).
