Description

The resource contains the data of the Catalogue of the historic (1924-1957) collection of Odonata at MUSE - Museo delle Scienze in Trento (Italy).

A total of 836 records related to dry mounted specimen adult dragonflies and damselflies preserved in the collection "Miscellanea invertebrati (cINV017) are given.

Study Extent

Data refer to Italy (mostly Trentino - Alto Adige) in a period span comprised between 1924 and 1957.

Sampling

The Odonata specimens contained in the cINV017 “Miscellanea Invertebrati” preserved at MUSE in Trento were revised and a catalogue containing all the available data created.

Method steps

  1. The Odonata specimens contained in the cINV017 “Miscellanea Invertebrati” preserved at MUSE in Trento (Italy) were revised and reordered. Label data were digitalized and verified. Geographical data on labels were georeferenced as best as possible. A final catalogue containing all the available data was created.
