Description

Specimen occurrence data were compiled for all available specimens of the rove genus Bolitogyrus from localities in the Oriental region. Specimens were assigned to species in the context of the accompanying revision of all Oriental species. Localities were checked using GoogleEarth and occasionally, other websites (e.g., park websites) were used to verify GPS coordinates.

All available specimens of Bolitogyrus that could be assigned to an Oriental species (new or previously described).

Examined specimens borrowed from insect collections in North America, Europe, Asia.

The entire Oriental range of Bolitogyrus: west to southwest India, north to northwest China, east to Taiwan, south to Java. Bolitogyrus does not occur east of Wallace's line.
