Description

Regular monitoring of netplankton abundance and community composition collected with a monthly frequency along the water column in the Gulf of Trieste, from 3/1990 to 11/1993.

Sampling Description

Study Extent

Monthly sampling from 1990 to 1993.

Sampling

Zooplankton are collected by vertical hauls from 15 m to the surface using a WP2 net with 200 µm mesh, 56 cm diameter.

Method steps

Samples were fixed with Ca(HCO3)2-buffered formaldehyde (2-4% final concentration) for determination of species abundance and composition. Individuals were sorted and counted under binocular microscope.
