This historical dataset contains macrofauna observations from a marine invasive assessment that was done during the period 2011 to 2013 along Trinidad and Tobago coastlines.Purpose
The purpose of the dataset is to provide more information about our marine biodiversity in Trinidad and TobagoSampling Description
Study Extent
The rocky shoreline areas and jetties were surveyed for Perna Viridis the marine invasive species.Sampling
One hundred and six (106) sites from Trinidad and Tobago were thus sampled. Surveys were both qualitative and quantitative (mainly for community structure) spanning from February to November 2011. Each site was sampled once.Method steps
- Physico-chemical parameters- temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen and pH were recorded using the YSI meter and GPS coordinates were collected for all sampling stations. Photos of the sites were taken including underwater shots whenever water clarity permitted.
