Original provider: National Marine Life Center Dataset credits: Data provider National Marine Life Center Originating data center Satellite Tracking and Analysis Tool (STAT) Project partner The National Marine Life Center works closely with stranding network partners: the Massachusetts Audubon Society's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, the New England Aquarium, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA's Woods Hole Science Aquarium, the University of New England's Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Abstract: The National Marine Life Center is an independent, non-profit marine animal hospital and science education center dedicated to rehabilitating for release stranded sea turtles, seals, dolphins, porpoises, and small whales, and to advancing scientific knowledge and education in marine wildlife health and conservation.Sea turtles are fitted with satellite tags to help evaluate rehabilation success and to determine their movements once released back into their ocean homes. Supplemental information: Visit STAT's project page for additional information. This dataset is a summarized representation of the telemetry locations aggregated per species per 1-degree cell.
