The Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a strip of land running across the middle of the Korean Peninsula. It was established to serve as a buffer zone between the countries of North and South Korea. Since human activities are strictly restricted in the DMZ under the United Nations Command, ecosystems of the DMZ have been well conserved for past 60 years. Korea National Arboretum has surveyed the floras of the DMZ and its adjacent areas to conserve the vascular plants.Taxonomic Coverages
