Description

The checklist consists of avian species protected according to the Annex II of the Council Directive 2009/147/EC on the conservation of wild birds (Birds Directive). The vast majority of these species can be registered in Ukraine - one of the countries that have ratified the Directive.

The Checklist covers the entire territory of Ukraine.

Scientific names were manually extracted from the species list indicated on the web site: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX:32009L0147

Quality Control

Scientific names, including authorship, are given using GBIF species matching tool.
