Database of fish and crustacean fauna sampled in river estuaries in southern part of the Boso Peninsula, JapanSampling Description
Study Extent
The surveys were carried out from August 20 to October 3, 2020 in river estuarine environments, which were belonged to the Boso Peninsula, Japan.Sampling
Habitats in half tide and spring tide belonging to one reach section (approximately 10 times the width of the river mouth) were selected as investigation sites. The fishes were collected by hand nets and throwing nets at each habitat (rapid, riffle, run, and pool).Method steps
- Sampling locality and date were recorded. Specimens were given IDs, photographed, fin-clipped, and roughly classified on site. Specimens were shipped back to the lab for correct species identification.
