The Checklist of the flora of the Visimsky State Natural Biosphere Reserve is a species checklist dataset has been prepared. It contains 531 species of vascular plants, 238 genera and 69 families. Information from the authors’ field studies (field routes in 2019 and 2020) and published literature sources (Marina, 1987; 1996; 2001; 2006; Belyayeva and Sibgatullin, 2017; Pakina and Chkalov, 2017) was used. The nomenclature of species was determined mainly according to the international database The World Checklist of Vascular Plants (The World Checklist of Vascular Plants: URL: https://wcvp.science.kew.org). The herbarium of taxonomically complex genera (Hieracium, Alchemilla) was scanned and sent for identification to leading specialists in these groups. The verification of the genus Alchemilla was carried out by A. V. Chkalov (associate professor of the Department of Botany and Zoology of National Research Nizhny Novgorod State University), of the genus Hieracium – A. N. Sennikov (curator of the collections of apomictic flowering plants at the Botanical Museum of the University of Helsinki).Sampling Description
Study Extent
This checklist covers all vascular plants species that occur in the Visimsky State Natural Biosphere Reserve. The regions are located in the in the Central Ural in the taiga natural zones.Sampling
The dataset contains data obtained as a result of field studies and published literature sources (Marina, 1987; 1996; 2001; 2006; Belyayeva and Sibgatullin, 2017; Pakina and Chkalov, 2017). Field studies were carried out in 2019, 2020. The route network covered all the main types of habitats (boreal and nemoral forests, meadows, riparian plant communities and mires). 110 routes were made, their length was 10–15 km.Quality Control
The data were collected and processed by specialists from Botanical Garden of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UB RAS), Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin, Botanical Museum of the University of Helsinki, National Research Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny NovgorodMethod steps
- The dataset contains data obtained as a result of field studies and published literature sources (Marina, 1987; 1996; 2001; 2006; Belyayeva and Sibgatullin, 2017; Pakina and Chkalov, 2017). If the species is indicated in the literature sources, we are cited the publication. The checklist contains species without reference to a literary source, they are listed as new records for the territory of the reserve, which were discovered as a result of our field research.
- The Sampling Events dataset fields’ names were chosen according to Darwin Core (Wieczorek et al. 2012) and include the following: «taxonID», «kingdom», «family», «genus», «scientificName», «taxonRank», «references».
- In order to publish our dataset on the GBIF network, we adjusted our records to the Darwin Core specifications (Wieczorek et al. 2012 ).
- The nomenclature of species was determined mainly according to the international database The World Checklist of Vascular Plants (The World Checklist of Vascular Plants: URL: https://wcvp.science.kew.org). Species synonyms were removed from the checklist after checking the nomenclature.
