EDP Foz-Tua: Large and Medium-sized Mammals (occasional observations): Complementary Studies [2009-10]

Study Extent

The data were collected within a 5-km buffer around the lower Tua River valley (Northeast Portugal) up to 35 km from the mouth, in the municipalities of Carrazeda de Ansiães, Alijó, Vila Flor, Murça and Mirandela.

Sampling

No standardized sampling was used. All observations made outside the sampled points/transects for large mammals and/or during surveys of other vertebrates were recorded and collected here. The identification and species assessment methods were those used for the large mammals regular surveys: indirect signs of presence (scats, tracks) or observations of live individuals (only at night).

Quality Control

All identifications were performed by qualified technicians.
