Description

The dataset contains a selection of the Lepidoptera material housed in the Scientific Collection of ISEA PAS. There are representatives of both butterflies (superfamily Papilionoidea) and many other groups of moths for example Noctuoidea, Tortricidae, or Pyraloidea. The majority of taxa represent Palaearctic fauna, but some of them come from tropical regions of Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia. The database contains both specimens collected during recent fieldwork but also historical materials collected in the first half of the XX century. Almost 70, 000 databased specimens represent less than 20% of the Lepidoptera collection of ISEA PAS.
