Fehmarbelt environmental monitoring at Saksfjed Wilderness

Study Extent

The survey takes place in geographically specific areas and are repetead each year. Botanical surveys are conducted in a fixed area of approximately 1000 * 500m and take place once a year during the end of July. Breeding bird counting is performed two times a year, in April and May. One survey event consist of 1-2 day(s) of field work. This dataset spans from 2021 for botanical data and from 2022 for breeding bird data.

Sampling

The area for botanical surveys is subdivided in four subunits, all of which undergo general visual screening of plant species and are more thoroughly monitored in two 5m circles each (8 in total). The circles each have fixed position locations marked with coordinates. Two stretches of ditch is also monitored for plant species. Bird counting are performed at Lungholm Lake and the surrounding area (54°37'41"N 11°25'51"E) by visual observation of roosting birds. All observed birds are included in this dataset, regardless of breeding status.

Quality Control

All data are collected by professionals from Rambøll and have undergone internal quality control.
