Sampling Description

Study Extent

The dragonflies inventory work carried out from June 20 to July 20 in 2012 and 2013. The collection of material was made in the vicinity of the biological station of the Surgut State University in the village of Yugan, Surgut region.

Sampling

The material was collected according to the methods generally accepted for larvae and adults of dragonflies.

Method steps

  1. Phytophilic larvae were caught with a water net by mowing through underwater thickets.
  2. Bottom inhabitants were selected with a certain amount of soil, which was carefully washed so that the larvae could be easily found.
  3. The larvae intended for collection were fixed at the place of capture in 70-80% alcohol, which was renewed after some time.
  4. For catching adult dragonflies, an air net was used. Insects were killed in stains charged with ethyl acetate or ethyl ether.
