A list of the tracheophyte names accepted in the paper "Materials for the Flora of Smolensk Province" (Reshetnikova, 2004). The dataset was compiled as a first step towards further processing of the modern checklist for Smolensk Oblast, Russia.

The dataset includes 1,103 accepted species names. L., Narcissus poeticus L., Populus alba L., Populus deltoides Marsh., Populus balsamifera L., Populus ×generosa Henry, Populus longifolia Fisch., Ulmus pumila L., Fagopyrum esculentum Moench, Beta vulgaris L., Dianthus barbatus L, Lychnis chalcedonica L., Aconitum napellus L. s. l., Berberis vulgaris L., Papaver rhoeas L., Papaver somniferum L., Armoracia rusticana Gaertn., Mey. et Scherb., Brassica napus L, Brassica rapa L., Hesperis matronalis L., Hesperis pycnotricha Borb. et Degen, Lepidium sativum L., Raphanus sativus L., Philadelphus coronarius L., Ribes alpinum L., Ribes rubrum L., Aronia melanocarpa (Michx.) Also, the following 44 taxa with a question mark (?) were excluded: Potamogeton ×salicifolius Wolfg., Catabrosa aquatica (L.) Beauv., Eragrostis pilosa (L.) Beauv., Koeleria cristata (L.) Pers., Koeleria glauca (Schrad.) DC., Poa sylvicola Guss., Carex heleonastes Ehrh., Eleocharis uniglumis (Link) Schult., Arriplex nitens Schkuhr, Polycnemum arvense L., Arenaria longifolia Bieb., Dianthus superbus L., Otites parviflora Grossh., Camelina microcarpa Andrz., Camelina sativa (L.) Crantz, Isatis tinctoria L., Rorippa anceps (Wahlenb.) Reichenb., Rorippa brachycarpa C.A. Mey., Sisymbrium loeselii L., Jovibarba ruthenicum Schnittsp. et Lehm., Alchemilla cymatophylla Juz., Alchemilla glabricaulis Lindb. fil., Alchemilla semilunaris Alech., Potentilla arenaria Borkh., Potentilla recta L., Lathyrus pisiformis L., Euonymus europaea L., Malva neglecta Wallr., Viola elatior Fries, Viola uliginosa Bess., Lythrum virgatum L., Eryngium planum L., Androsace elongata L., Androsace maxima L., Cuscuta epilinum Weihe, Omphalodes scorpioides (Haenke) Schrank, Galeopsis bifida Boenn., Stachys recta L., Veronica austriaca L., Scabiosa ochroleuca L., Campanula sibirica L., Carduus nutans L., Pilosella praealta × P. floribunda, Serratula coronata L. These are mostly records fro Smolensk Oblast from old general sources without specimens or any later confirmations.
Several minor orthographic errors in either scientific names or their authors were corrected manually. Some names were not automatically cross-linked with the GBIF backbone.
