Organized by the French Institute of Pondicherry (IFP) as part of the BIFA6_015 project "Filling data gaps with the natural history collections of the Western Ghats", the main aim of this mission to visit IFP was for the project team to discuss and finalize workflows for the project.
Topics of discussion included:
- the basics of data digitization;
- types of datasets supported by GBIF and Darwin Core Archive;
- data curation, cleaning and management, and the tools and applications that can be used, including learning to use Open Refine; and
- publishing data using IPT.
