This workshop shared the results of the project, "Gathering of biodiversity data on bird species for their sustainable management in Benin", to partners and decision-makers from the Ministry of Environmental Management. Communication inlcuded the main deliverables of the project, outcomes from the ecological modelling training and capacity-building workshop for project partners, and the published bird occurance data.
Information on the distribution of Lophaetus occipitalis was given based on ecological niche modeling completed within the framework of the project. Data presented as a result of the project highlighted the relevance for better protection of conservation areas and future research.
The workshop also included an insight into GBIF and the GBIF Benin node.
