Description
Natuurmuseum Brabant (Natural History Museum Brabant) manages an extensive natural history collection. Although the collection comprises specimens from all over the world, the majority are from Western Europe and the Netherlands, and the province of Noord-Brabant in particular. Extending, researching and managing the collection is an important aspect of the museum’s work. The key area of specialization is the sub-collection of arthropods, especially insects. This sub-collection includes multiple large series of specimens from the long-term (and ongoing) biodiversity study of the Kaaistoep nature reserve near Tilburg. Within a broader general research focus on biology, biodiversity research forms a key area of the museum’s activities.Contacts
