discussion
Remarks: The description illustrates two specimens (PEM R 7625 and R 7632). No date was provided in the original publication, but the label reads ‘ 23 June 1930 ’. All specimens are in good overall condition, but PEM R 7625 has a detached tail. Loveridge (1947) placed P. oculatus and P. m. albomarginatus in the synonymy of P. maculatus, although De Waal (1978) regarded P. m. albomarginatus as a synonym of P. oculatus. He also reported, in error (p. 22, 24) that the types in the AMG were missing. Examination of the types confirms that they are morphologically similar to P. oculatus.
